Hello Everyone,
This is in addition to the firmware problems we have been having with the MTU through Xbox on the 2Wire Telus brand router once it has been firmware reset (and ultimately bricked). You can follow the first part of the post here: http://www.filearchivehaven.com/2011/02/20/telus-2700hg-e-firmware-and-usage-off-of-telus/.
I believe this definitively shows that this unit cannot support ddwrt (freeware firmware).
I finished tearing the unit apart and wanted to post some photos. To open it easily, just use a screw-driver in the air-slots. You will find two long plastic clips near the edges that need to be pushed in to release the covers.
Higher quality photos are below. Including the CPU which has a custom 2Wire Ares CPU. And a NAND memory chip at 128MB.
Photos below.

Hello, could you provide hi quality pics of that PCB ? thx Chris
Unfortunately: This photo is the best one I have. I can’t remember where I put the 2wire (I replaced it with a dlink after this post) but if I find it around the house I’ll snap up some better photos for you. The biggest problem is I dont have the greatest camera for it but I’ll see what I can do!.
Thanks a lot that will help some of us to add “perchaps” WAN port to 2700HG version best regards Chris
can you show more picks because it would be helpful thanks.
I don’t have this router anymore unfortunately 🙁
