Today, Canadian news agencies went into a fervor over reports that Osama Bin Laden was found dead in Columbia.
A bit more on the story: Wikipedia says:
On May 1, 2011, President Obama announced that bin Laden was killed earlier that day by “a small team of Americans” acting under his direct orders, in a covert operation in Abbottabad, Pakistan, 150km north of Islamabad.[142][143], affirming earlier confirmation by US officials to the media.[144] DNA from bin Laden’s body, compared with DNA samples on record from his dead sister, confirmed bin Laden’s identity.[145] The body was recovered by the US military and is currently in its custody.[142]
President Obama said that the operation was conducted with assistance from the Pakistani government.
Right, we haven’t heard that one before…
They are pretty sure this guy is dead…
Or maybe it was this guy? Yeah, turns out he wasn’t in Iraq after all! Oh wait, the US was looking for Oil in Iraq, not Osama. Oops, good thing they found him in Pakistan. Or was it Columbia? Well, depends on which news report you read. Then again, according to some agencies, he was killed in 2007, 2009 and now in 2011.
Well, lets hope that once and for all this means we can finally stop spending so much on terrorizing innocent civilians in foreign countries looking for one person. But, that’s just my opinion. Some people have to stop and wonder why we fight vigilantism in courts in our countries, but promote it at the military level.
And before I forget, yes this is ground breaking news. But for the love of god, why do you feel the need to interrupt Celebrity Apprentice for it? We waited 10 years. I’m pretty sure this could have waited 2 minutes for a commercial break.
